High-powered Telecom Venture

The team needed to achieve several key objectives:

* Solve a very complex technological challenge that involves deeply integrated infrastructure and the highest levels of data privacy, security, and authentication.

* Manage an equally complex design, development, and launch process.

* Create a brand new, two-sided marketplace—and corresponding business model to support and promote it—delivers value to both end users and third-party service providers and partners.

An important part of being able to drive toward these goals successfully was Righpoint’s product management experience. The client trusted that Rightpoint could deliver the product because Rightpoint delivery teams, led by highly experienced product managers, are used to navigating ambiguity, building consensus, and quickly determining the critical path to a viable product offering. The team could easily scale to manage the additional work seamlessly because of their strong model and proven processes, which provided critical support through multiple transitions.

Ultimately, we were successful in delivering an easy-to-use, highly secure, multi-factor network-based identity authentication platform to:

* Give consumers a fast and safe way to register for apps and websites

* Relieve consumers of the burden of managing countless passwords

* Enable app developers with on-demand fraud signals Enable personal control of the information shared with apps and accounts

Specific Rightpoint deliverables included technical specifications, mock interfaces, high-level flows (which were a critical alignment mechanism for the entire program), the APIs and test harnesses, demo apps, mock API testing, documentation, web and native SDKs, infrastructure (AWS), design, usability testing, and DevOps. 


For the consumer apps, Rightpoint launched and shipped 8 mobile app variations tailored to different carrier networks with iOS and Android platforms. 

In addition to the product deliverables, Rightpoint also worked closely with the client team to refine its business model to help the venture evolve from a startup to a more complete and stable solution. In particular, Rightpoint provided support and guidance around topics like optimizing processes around triage management, release planning, and platform operations.

 Just months after its launch, the platform is on its way to becoming the new standard in identity authentication and management.

Enhancing the Core Product and Prototyping Early-stage Concepts

Rightpoint’s work with Sanofi is concentrated with the company’s internal client, MedTech, who’s digital strategy has focused on Class I and Class II medical apps for diabetes therapies. To help this internal team achieve objectives related to product stability, predictable sprints, and innovation, the Rightpoint team functions as a fully integrated extension of Sanofi’s in-house tech team. While Rightpoint’s ISO 13485 certification enables Sanofi to deliver quality medical grade software meeting the FDA’s and EU’s regulatory guidelines, Sanofi’s preference was for the Rightpoint team to integrate with the existing Sanofi team and work directly in their own QMS with Sanofi project managers.

Rightpoint’s contribution to Sanofi’s mission fall into two categories: core development work and innovative proof-of-concept projects.

Core Development Work

To support ongoing development projects, Rightpoint provides a flexible resource solution that allows Sanofi to engage exactly the resources they need when they need them. Rightpoint provides iOS engineers, bluetooth integrators, mobile specialists, and others, saving Sanofi the effort and expense of identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and managing additional in-house staff while ensuring the organization has all the technical expertise it needs at its fingertips.

Innovative Proof-of-Concept Work

In addition to the on-site staff augmentation, Rightpoint also works under their own QMS on a number of proof-of-concept efforts to uncover the potential applications of enabling various voice, software, and device integrations. Rightpoint’s deep expertise across a broad array of technology specialties enables them to handle complex projects and produce a wide range of early-stage prototypes that embody the forward-thinking strategies Sanofi needs to push their product roadmap forward.

Many of the concepts from this early stage design exploration are being incorporated in the next version of the product. For example, working closely with Sanofi’s internal resources, Rightpoint took on the responsibility of redesigning the user experience and UI of a diabetes log book and adherence platform that works with connected devices (including BLE injectors, BG meters, and BTLE devices) and that will also incorporate a basal insulin titration algorithm from an earlier version of the platform. Sanofi decided to productize this design, so the project has transitioned to the Rightpoint engineers on the staff augmentation team for development.

Whether working on core product design and development or proof-of-concept innovations, Rightpoint is continuously in lockstep with Sanofi on their ultimate mission to actively improve patient health. Each member of the integrated team is acutely aware that their work has the potential to actually impact people’s lives in very real and dramatic ways. A consistent commitment to seeing this through fuels everything the team does.

Clinique - Interactive Digital Door

Clinique tasked my team to build an interactive digital door for the launch of a brand new store in Hong Kong. We built the frontend application, a content management system and implemented both touch screen overlay and motion sensor.

Retail kiosk application for Clinique on-counter. Includes recommendation quiz with business logic, internal sales training tools, support for 24 languages, digital signage and featured product campaigns. All dynamically updated OTA and locked into ASAM.

Cinedigm - Digital Studio

2012

Oversaw scope, budget, engineering, procurement and build-out of digital studio in NYC. Architected a state of the art QC, ingest, transcode and delivery system for delivery to vendors such as Amazon, Apple, Google and Netflix.

Cinedigm - MOKSI Content Management System

2012-2013

Designed an in-house state of the art asset management system to manage unique business rules and oversee all delivery and rights in the content library.

Additionally added systems to help measure asset throughput and provide business intelligence to management. 

Gave the company a strategic advantage in scalability with proprietary solutions in a ultra competative landscape.

SubscriptMe - Mobile Application

2015

Co-founded and co-led the conceptualization, design and development of SubscriptMe, an iOS application designed to track and manage subscription services.

Utilized tools such as: Sketch, Invision, Parse, Mixpanel, Intercom, Slack, ZenDesk, Slice, Firebase and others to successfully launch and submit multiple iOS builds and support users. Built a user base of over six thousand MAU’s.

App has been featured on Product Hunt, Mashable, BostInno, Forbes and other publications.
